Paint or replaster

I've been asked this question several times in my 24 plus years in the pool industry and until this past pool season I never seen any problems with painting your gunite pool. I added pool plastering this year and replastered 2 pools that had been painted and it was a nightmare removing the paint so we could bond coat pool prier to plastering. I know that painting your pool seems like it cost less at the time but it is only a temporary fix and will have to be repeated at least every other year to keep your pool looking good.

Polynesian conversion

Yes, we make liners for every brand of pool, but with the Polynesian low-hung pool, you have a unique opportunity.  This pool originally had an acrylic pool wall like a spa and a track at the bottom of the wall so the liner could be “hung” 8 inches from the floor.  Seemed like a great idea at the time.  It’s kind of a hybrid of the acrylic wall/concrete floor pools that are still built today.  You get the beauty and durability of an acrylic wall without the maintenance demands of a concrete floor.

Garage Floor Coatings

Garage floors coatings are very popular these days and there is a lot of DIY products out there you can use. The thing is that most don't prepare the surface before the application and the product fails. So if you are doing your floor or having it done by a contractor, be sure that the surface is prepped correctly to insure proper bonding of the coating being applied. PREP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY COATINGS APPLIED TO CONCRETE.

Driveway Resurfacing

Can I resurface my driveway with an overlay? The answer is yes you can. If a driveway is prepped and sealed correctly than the overlay should have no problem adhering to the concrete and staying on even under heavy traffic.

Cracks in your concrete

I have been asked if cracks in concrete can be fixed and not return and to be honest, while they can be repaired the cracks have a 50% chance of returning. The cracks if repaired correctly if they return will be hair line cracks. What I try to do to make cracks less noticeable is incorporate them into the the job to conceal them so that if  they do return they will be less noticeable. For more on this subject feel free to contact me and I will be more than glad to discuss it with you. Thanks

Basic texture

I have been asked what this is when quoting a job. Basic texture is sprayed then knocked down with a trowel then sealed with a color seal.

New above ground pool vs used above ground pool

This is a question I have been asked a lot this season. I know that people are trying to save money and times are tough for everyone but to be honest by the time you buy a new liner , have the pool installed, etc you could add a little more to the total cost and have a NEW ABOVE GROUND POOL with a warranty and know that the pool will last you for many years to come.
